A simple phrase!

Consumerism is eating this planet. I wanted to make a quick catch phrase to sum up my feelings on consumerism. It isn't easy to fend off the daily assault of advertisements that are scientifically designed to make you buy, and products that are intended to "define who you are", and celebrities (a product in themselves) whose overpowering charisma and style are narcotic. Here it is.

Quit buying crap you don't need with money you don't have from people that don't care about the future.

Crap: TVs, cellphones, SuVs, shoes with lights in them, F-22 Raptors, Limousine's, Crocs, meat and fish raised on factory farms, most houses made after 1970, newspapers, pro sports tickets.

Money you don't have: Credit cards. Can you imagine if everyone cut up their credit cards and didn't use them for a year?

People who don't care: Fast food restaurants, Walmart, Oil Companies, DuPont, GE, anyone who advertises on FOX News.

Things you should buy: A bus pass, organic foods, used books, clothing made in America, a musical instrument, walking shoes, sun block, a water filter, a "Children of Men" dvd.
